Removable Partial Denture (Removable Bridge)

R

Short Description

A dental appliance that replaces some missing teeth and can be taken out and reinserted by the patient.

Long Description

A removable partial denture, sometimes called a removable bridge, is a prosthetic device used to replace one or more missing teeth while the patient retains some natural teeth. It fits around existing teeth and fills in the gaps for function and aesthetics.

The appliance is often made of a metal framework with acrylic teeth and may include clasps that grip adjacent teeth. Some designs use flexible or all-acrylic materials for greater comfort and esthetics.

Patients can remove the appliance for cleaning and sleeping. It restores the ability to chew, speak, and smile confidently and helps maintain the position of remaining teeth, preventing them from shifting into empty spaces.
