Immediate Denture

I

Short Description

A denture placed in the mouth right after tooth extraction, providing instant tooth replacement.

Long Description

An immediate denture is a removable prosthesis that is inserted immediately after teeth have been extracted. It allows the patient to leave the dental office with teeth in place, avoiding the need to go without them during the healing period.

The denture is fabricated in advance based on impressions taken before the extraction. Although functional and aesthetic, it may require adjustments or relining after the gums and bone heal, as the mouth’s shape will change during recovery.

Immediate dentures provide psychological and practical benefits, helping patients eat, speak, and smile comfortably while awaiting a final denture or other long-term solution.
